Features

The features of vet rota software Everything it takes to hold up.

Six pillars, born from how practices really work. Click to jump straight there:

The Djed app is in French for now. This site is in English.

01The engine

Build the month in one click.

The same kind of engine that schedules airline crews, not a box filler. The whole month, days, nights, on-call and out-of-hours, solved in a few seconds.

  • The hard rules you set (days off, limits, rest after on-call, closures): the engine never breaks them
  • A transparent diagnosis, decisions explained criterion by criterion
  • Rerun in one click when something changes

02Fairness

Prove it’s fair, in black and white.

A real index, computed from each person’s load against their target and recalculated with every manual change. The fairness ledger keeps the previous months.

  • Days against target, Saturdays, Sundays, on-call, nights (per person)
  • A history you can show at the team meeting
  • Recalculated live with every manual tweak

03On-call and out-of-hours

Fair on-call, at last.

A rotation with memory: each person’s on-call balance is counted over a rolling twelve months, so it doesn’t always land on the same people. Avoiding two on-call weekends in a row is a goal for the engine, not a guarantee.

  • Duties on closed days, on-call, nights
  • Swaps between colleagues, approved in one click: fairness updates
  • A lock freezes a day, on-call included

04Days ⇄ shifts

Your organisation, your rules.

Full days or time slots: each practice (and each team) picks its rhythm. Djed spreads people across the shifts.

  • Hours and capacity per shift, per weekday
  • A one-off shift for a single day
  • Switching mode never touches published rotas

05Day to day

You stay in control.

Day inspector, drag and drop, pin, lock, and a copilot that shows you where to look before something gets stuck.

  • Your decisions stay put, the engine builds around them
  • “Why this choice?” explained in every cell
  • A whole day in one panel: team, on-call, shifts, lock

06Organisation

Run the whole group from one screen.

One company, several practices, two teams. Clear roles (company admin, practice admin, members) and locked publishing.

  • An “all practices” view to run the group
  • Vets and vet nurses, two separate teams
  • Rules are frozen at the moment of publishing

07The iPhone app

The rota in every team member’s pocket.

Everyone sees their own days and on-call, asks for a swap or for leave. A notification when the month is published, another when a colleague offers a swap. The app is in French for now.

  • My week, my on-call, my rest days: at a glance
  • On-call swaps offered and accepted from the phone
  • Notifications when the month is published and for every swap

The real before and after

Your Sunday evening isn’t the same any more.

Same practice, same team, same constraints. A spreadsheet on one side, Djed on the other.

The Sunday evening spreadsheet

  • Two hours in the evening, after consults
  • One wrong formula and the whole month is off
  • Always the same people on call at weekends
  • “That’s not fair”, and nobody can prove otherwise

With Djed

  • The whole month built in 7.7 seconds
  • Hard rules and closures: the engine respects them
  • On-call spread with 12 months of memory
  • A fairness index in figures, to show at the meeting
